The heart wants what the heart wants…
And my heart wanted this sweater for an entire calendar year so I bought it.
Valentine’s Day is comin’ up and it’s comin’ quick. Who cares if you have a date when you have a sweater that’s this cute?!
I had been eyeing this one for a year. Wooden Ships specializes in holiday themed sweaters, so they kind of keep the same styles on rotation. Which is why they still have this style for sale this year! They don’t make it in this color way anymore, but there are a bunch of other fun colors so don’t fret. Click here to check out their entire V-day collection. Click here for this sweater in particular.
I can’t tell you how often I wear this thing. It’s a thick wool but a loose knit, meaning that air can get through (so not advised for the winter-est of winters) but the wool is warm enough to keep you comfortable in lower temps. It’s perfect for our Louisiana winters! I even wore mine in early May with cut offs and was comfy.
I styled this sweater with an old pair of Olivacious faux leather pants (so old that they’re split at the butt crack… TMI but at least you got a good laugh out of that) and old chocolate suede Stuart Weitzman boots that were given to me by a client. The kitten heel is back and I think I’m ready for it, people!
You can find similar pants here and here. If you’re a fan of Spanx leggings, you’re going to want to click on that second “here”. You can find similar, more affordable boots here and here. The earrings are from Baublebar (and are my new obsession). For some reason this pair isn’t on the website; I’m thinking either they haven’t been released to Baublebar’s site yet or Hemline (where I purchased from) just got a really late shipment and they don’t sell them anymore. I know y’all must hate me more and more each time I tell you to buy things that don’t exist online… Which is all the time. Love me, please.
*Disclaimer: the sweater stretches. As all knits do. I’m wearing an XS/S. I really love the way it fits even after it’s stretched, just know that it probably won’t retain it’s shape after a few wears! Just give it some love and it’ll be fine.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Treat yourself to a new sweater instead of chocolate this year. Well, okay, maybe just a little chocolate.
