Velvet Bodysuit + Ruffled Jeans

Kicking off 2019 with a pair of kick-ass jeans!!

The New Year is a time for reinvention, self-reflection, and rejuvenation. While my resolutions will probably only last the next few weeks (to be cleaner, more punctual, etc), I want to keep this one going: fun clothes and way more content! Since I am no longer in college, I can try to focus more on this blog. I’m still just as broke as a college student though, so be expecting just as many steals and deals. But even better fashion.

Bodysuit: Misa Los Angeles || Jeans: ASOS || Sandals: Jaggar || Sunnies: Krewe || Necklace: Gypsy Handmade Co

Let’s start with this killer Misa bodysuit and the most fun pair of jeans ever!! I got this bodysuit on sale at Hemline in Towne Center BR, but it’s 30% off online in all sizes! I’m wearing size small. The “underwear” part of the bodysuit is a bit snug, which is why I chose the small over the xs. The ties at the shoulder are adjustable, so don’t worry too much about that if you’re buying this piece! It’s such a fun year-round staple, so investing in this piece isn’t a terrible idea 🙂

I’m all for a fun pair of jeans, especially if they’re only $20!! I’m wearing a petite size W26 L28. ASOS is short on most sizes. But they do have them in regular length, also in limited sizes since their sale has been going on for a bit. Gotta be quick when the deals are this good! Click here for the petite length and here for the regular length.

Mixing patterns is fun!! It’s tough to do, but when done well it’s super chic and unique. Yes, I realize that rhymed. If you’re going to try it, I suggest finding patterns with the same general color scheme so they at least match. While there’s no white in the bodysuit, white obviously goes with anything so run with it. And since the stripes in the bodysuit and the plaid in the sandals are broken up, it’s easier to mix those when they aren’t up against each other.

I’ve been eyeing this necklace for a few years now… If it looks familiar to you, it’s because Natalie Portman wore it in The Other Boleyn Girl! Gypsy Handmade is the designer and her work in so amazing. Jeannette, the woman behind the magic, finds all these pieces is Turkey and other places so rich with culture and rare finds and turns them into classic jewelry. This piece isn’t online, but Jeannette will customize just about anything for you. If you see something you like but it isn’t just right, send her an email and she can work her magic on it!

I have a mantra for this year… Say it with me: “I will embody Carrie Bradshaw. I will embody Carrie Bradshaw. I will embody Carrie Bradshaw.” On that note, I’M MOVING TO NEW YORK!! It’s finally happening people. More on that later… (!!!!!!!!)
