So I lied on the last post; I’m unable to post an outfit today because I’m so busy with school! And because I don’t have a photographer today… So to make up for it, I’ve been doing a little online shopping to create a few perfect Valentine’s Day date outfits. Voguish: being in vogue; fashionable; chic; briefly popular or fashionable, faddish. Dress to impress this Valentine’s Day! Whether it’s a date with your man or your mom (mine will be my mom), any of these pieces are very well priced and extremely versatile! I tried to create a look for every type of girl and every type of style. You can mix and match almost everything on this post! PS- there’s an unspoken rule that you have to wear pink or red on V-Day, which is why I’ve incorporated a shade of each in each outfit. Do what you will with it. And girls here’s a little tip… it’s extremely important to dress for YOU, not him. So make yourself feel and look awesome by treating yourself regardless of if you’ll have someone treating you! Send yourself some flowers if you have to… retail therapy always helps. But of course all of these looks are perfectly romantic to wear on your perfect date if you have one planned!
This first set is so perfect for brunch on the big day. The cut of the pieces are dainty while the color is the ultimate statement. The lace is perfect for spring but since the seasons are transitioning, put on a really cool leather jacket to warm it up! I love love love the one above because it has a clean, simple cut. The bottom of the back is inverted (shorter than the front, kind of scoops inward) and is a t-shirt material which makes the jacket really warm. The white is perfect for spring but the leather is good for the winter! It also comes in black. And it’s on sale!! If you want to mix it up, find a cropped sweater to put with the skirt like the one above; it’s also on sale! The suede and straps on the heels add in more winter hues. I found those Rachel Zoe drop earrings online at Nordstrom’s and they come in black, too! I just really like the way the marble look makes the perfect combination of soft and hard.
This set comes in two separate pieces too, I just didn’t get a chance to dig around on Zara for the top! You should be able to find it at the bottom of the page for the pants. I love the idea of mixing patterns– even though these are technically the same, the larger vs. smaller print give it a whole new concept. For a splash of bold color, add these incredible Dee Keller Piper heels. I’m obsessed with them. If you want something similar for cheaper, check Zappos! Because the outfit it so busy, I’d say put a really simple gold necklace with it. I found this dainty gold knot at BCBG and there’s a matching ring for only $28!
For the anti-date, wear this asymmetrical skirt and a graphic tee out with the girls! The pastel colors are in for spring 2015, but the dark suede boots will make the outfit more wintery. These brown Chinese Laundry over-the-knee boots are on sale at Macy’s and the sale ends today so hurry if you want to get the 15% off! The baby blue leather gem is also on sale at Macy’s! Layer a bunch of delicate necklaces over the tees and add a pop of dark lip color for the ideal “going out” look.
For the girls who prefer darker clothes, this is for you. These olive pants are the perfect in-between of leggings and real pants; they zip at the inside of the ankle and I think they have pockets! The beautiful draping on the back of this Tobi tee is just the right amount of sensual and conservative. To lighten the look up, get these Sam Edelman kicks on sale! The long jewels will brighten the outfit up just a little bit more and it goes perfectly with the pumps. Perfect for date night! Here are a few more pieces that I couldn’t resist but share… I didn’t style outfits for them, but they’re perfect for Valentine’s Day! Or just nice to have 🙂
I hope everyone has a fantastic Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras holiday! I won’t be able to post anymore this week due to buku amounts of school work and packing to do… But prepare yourself for a full four days of blog posts coming to you from the city that never sleeps (much like I do).
Next time you see me, I’ll be in New York.
